In 1972, the CMA® (Certified Management Accountant) title was created to offer an impartial assessment of a person’s proficiency and expertise in management accounting. The special skills needed to succeed in the demanding management accounting fields are only acknowledged by the CMA program.

The CMA program was created to address the changing demands of business, both now and in the future. Your competence in your chosen sector and your commitment to both professional and personal development will be validated by this certification.

To be eligible for CMA certification, a student must fulfil all of the following requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Candidates for the CMA certification must complete two continuous years of professional experience in management accounting and/or financial management.
  • Candidates for CMA certification must complete part 1 and part 2 examinations.
  • Active membership in IMA

The US CMA can typically be completed in 10 to 12 months, depending on the schedule & preparation strategy.

It’s a computer-based exam. Each part includes; 100 multiple choice questions (with no negative mark) & 2 essay questions. Total exam duration is 4 hours (3+1

The passing score is 360 out of 500.

CMA USA is increasingly recognized by MNCs, Big 4s and large corporations in India, especially for finance and strategic roles. while the US CMA isn’t mandatory for Indian government on purely domestic roles, it’s highly Valued in private sector jobs.

You can take the exams before completing the required work experience but you must fulfill the experience requirement within 7 years of passing exam.

Yes, you can take Part 1 & Part 2 in the same testing window, though many candidates prefer to focus on one part at a time due to the depth of content

You can retake the part in a future testing window, but you’ll have to pay the exam fee again each time.

The exam is computer-based & administered at Prometric testing centers.

They are scenario-based & may require calculations, written analysis on recommendations, Interpretations of financial data & Application of concepts to real-world business problems.
